A time of rebirth in European history can only be recognized as the Renaissance. Such a historic change of events from misery and despair to wealth and prosperity was a product of an individualistic mindset. The ideas of individualism are tied with the values of humanism. Humanists believed that all people should live life to the fullest and achieve their full potential. These ideas of humanism were personified through the leaders of the Renaissance. Monarchs competed for power while reformers brought change to society. From Henry IV to Martin Luther, religion was modified and liberties were established. The Renaissance almost seemed too good to be true with the Absolutism Era right around the corner.
